Academic-looking sections are my favorite type of architectural representation. They are powerful tools for bringing interior spaces to life, expressing design and construction details, and taking the audience on a journey through the project via a 2D plan.
I recommend a few reference and inspiration books on section perspectives, including “Graphic Anatomy” by Atelier Bow-Wow and “Manual of Section” by Paul Lewis, Marc Tsurumaki, and David J. Lewis. Both books demonstrate many section details and technical methods in the foreground through the use of conventional graphic elements such as hatching, lines, and tones to create a sectional perspective with hierarchical line weight.”
